It was a long two weeks.  Prepping for VBX, moving to a new house, plus all the normal stuff. Sunday afternoon we finished it all off! (Woot!)  So Monday, in celebration of my son’s 3rd birthday, and seeking a day of refreshment, we went on a family mini-vacation. One day, one cooler, one stroller= awesomeness.

First we went down to Assateague Island and saw the wild ponies, walked some trails, explored one of the bay beaches, and had a picnic lunch.  Then it was time for some Ocean City boardwalk action.  A few carnival rides, some Thrashers fries, and of course, some sand time.  Then it was home for a (homemade) popcorn and movie night. (Followed by Dad staying up too late watching a little MNF.)

Needless to say, I used up a vacation day, got nothing on my fat to-do list done, and have very little tangible results to show for yesterday.  BUT, my family (and specifically: me) is refreshed, recharged, and ready to tackle September.  Yesterday was, as my wife tweeted, exactly what our family needed.

So, my question for you is, what do you do, personally, as a family, as a team do to recharge? Yes, I am talking to YOU.  Jump in.

Props to Capa12 for the pic.
